Itinerary Details

Day 1 arrival, optional city tour
On this day you arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the evening and a Kibo Slopes Safaris driver/guide will be waiting for you after immigration and transfer to Heron Court Hotel, BB

Day 2 drive to Nakuru, lunch, game drives
We take an early breakfast and start off the day’s adventures at 7.00 am with a drive to the Lake Nakuru National Park. Game drives here reveal the abundant birds and wildlife. Most pronounced are the flamingoes on the lake shores. Nakuru is also a Rhino Sanctuary with a population of over 100 white and black rhinos. The fenced park hosts all the Big Five except elephants. From the baboon cliff we have a good view over the whole park and Nakuru town in the backdrop. We return to the Lodge for a late lunch and a relaxing afternoon. Dinner and overnight will be at Flamingo Hill Tented Camp.

Day 3 drive to Maasai Mara, lunch, game drives
After an early morning breakfast we start a drive towards Mara Game reserve to arrive in time for hot lunch with brief game drives enroute to Mara Ashnil Camp.

Day 4 Mara game drives
We have breakfast before a full day at the Mara Game Reserve with lunchboxes or hot lunch back at the camp. In between the morning and evening game drives we may opt to visit a Maasai Village where we get an idea of the daily life of the local community. Overnight will again be the Mara Ashnil Camp.

Day 5 Drive to Kisumu, lunch on the way
To the North we start our journey with a lunch stop in Migori towards the Island of Rusinga in Lake Victoria; mild climate making activities pleasurable and viable. Activities to choose from are fishing, birding, visiting the local communities. Dinner and overnight will be at Rusinga Island Lodge.

Day 6 - Ferry to Bondo and drive to Jinja
Ferry to Bondo pick up at the border with our Kibo Uganda representative and drive to Jinja check in at the hotel and wait on a sunset cruise on the Nile. Nothing beats an African sunset especially right on the Nile with an ice cold drink and snack. A camera with you to capture the moment Dine and overnight Jinja Nile Resort.

Day 7 - Drive to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, Rhino tracking
Drive to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking, the sanctuary is the only place in Uganda where you can view the endangered species in their natural habitat. The plan is to reintroduce the rhinos into the wild after the numbers increase. On arrival you will be given briefing before taking the Rhino trek. Once you locate them a maximum of 1 hour in their vicinity, you may also encounter sight of animals on this walk include duikers, waterbucks and more after drive to the lodge for lunch. Dine and overnight Amuka Lodge

Day 8 - Drive to Murchinson
Breakfast early then check out and start your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. The drive to the beautiful Murchison falls NP offers you great scenery arriving at the lodge check-in arriving in time for lunch, after go and enjoy a game drive which will give great opportunity of seeing elephants, giraffes, hippos and a wide range of birdlife. Dine and overnight Pakuba Safari Lodge

Day 9 - Game viewing Boat on to the Bottom falls end with a hike to the fall
Game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, with chances of seeing lots of wildlife in search for food. On list you may spot giraffes, elephants, lions, hartebeest and different species of birds. You will return for your full breakfast (if not taken before), then relax as you enjoy the lodge facilities till lunch. Afternoon highlight of the day is a Boat Cruise on the Nile to the bottom of the fall. This offers close views of the Nile Crocodiles, Hippos and so many birds. Great views of other wildlife over land can be rewarding as well. Board off from the bottom of the falls and Hike up to the top which is another chance to view the Top of the fall. From here your driver will meet you and drive you back to the Lodge

Day 10 - Drive to Fort Portal lunch stop at Miika Eco Lodge after continue drive to
After breakfast, you will drive to Kibale National Park, along the way you will bypass many tea plantations. Stop over for lunch at Miika Eco Lodge. If time allows you will have a stop at one of the Tea plantations and interact with the pickers learn how Tea is grown and harvested as well as the challenges that they face. Dine and overnight Kluges Guest Farm

Day 11 - Chimpanzee tracking and drive to Ihamba
Take an early breakfast before your AM Chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kibale Forest for a half day experience. As you search for the residents also keep an eye for other primates such as grey-cheeked mangabey monkeys, I’Hoest’s, red colobus, red-tailed and blue monkeys. The guide will share more while on the trek ensuring the trail is both informative and enjoyable. Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park 2nd largest park in the country and located at the base of the Rwenzori Mountain range next to Lake Edward and Lake George which are joined by the Kazinga Channel. Dine and overnight at Ihamba Lakeside Safari Lodge.

Day 12 – Boat on Kazinga Channel, lunch,and drive to Ishasha
Whole day of a activity with a start of game viewing to see more animals include lions, over 500 bird species have been identified making it a place for bird watchers these include the 11 different species of kingfisher, eagles, the black bee-eater. Take a visit to the Explosion Craters situated north of the magnificent Mweya Peninsular, these are extinct craters although a few release sulphurous smells. Drive runs 27km purely beautiful views with plenty of wildlife to see. Conduct a boat cruise on Kazinga channel this takes about 2hours on the water, you will see buffalos, elephants at the bank, after the cruise you will drive to the Ishasha sector. Dine and overnight Ishasha Jungle Lodge.

Day 13 – Day of game viewing
This day opens up so many opportunities for game lovers. Breakfast early then head into the jungle to search for so many including the tree climbing lions, Elephants, herds of Buffaloes and much more. This park is also a birders paradise rewarding guests with so many rare species. Lunch at Lodge and afternoon game drives to increase your chances of spotting wildlife. Dine and overnight Ishasha Jungle Lodge

Day 14 – Drive to Bwindi southern section stay at Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge
Today you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. On your way you shall have great views of the terraced hills of Kabale also called the Switzerland of Africa. Bwindi national park is home to the endangered mountain gorillas. This fascinating mountain forest hosts chimpanzees and spectacular birds. There are 23 of the 24 Albertine rift endemic bird species including blue-throated broadbill, bar-tailed trogon and other beautiful forest species that call this forest home. You will go to bed early so as to prepare for the following day’s gorilla trekking. Dine and overnight at Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla lodge.

Day 15 – Gorilla tracking
After your breakfast, proceed to the visitor’s reception for a briefing you will be separated into groups basing on which Gorilla trekking group you will to be tracking. Then the guide will lead you through the gorilla paths in the thick Bwindi Impenetrable rain forests searching for the giant mountain Gorillas. The trek takes 2-8 hours depending where you find the Mountain Gorillas. And once they are found, you shall be given an hour to view these beautiful primates. Dine and overnight as previous day

Day 16 – Drive to Ruhengeri, lunch, canoeing in River Mukungwa
Drive to Ruhengeri the most popular touristic city and the gateway to the Volcanoes. The city has got so many restaurants and hotels seen along the way. We have lunch on the way at la Palme Hotel and go for canoeing in River Mukungwa and enjoy beautiful surroundings of vegetation and views of the Volcanoes. From canoeing drive to the hotel dine and overnight Five Volcanoes Boutique hotel

Day 17 – Cave exploration lunch, drive to Kigali
Morning after Breakfast you will drive to volcanoes national park headquarters for a short a briefing and start the caves adventure which were formed as a results of volcanic eruption and were used as shelter during wars time, after lunch you will drive to Kigali at Scheba hotel for overnight.

Day 18 - City tour, museum, parliament, genocide memorial, roof top dinner at Umbano Hotel
After breakfast we embark on a tour of Kigali which is ranked as the cleanest city in Africa. During this tour we will visit historical places like, the Genocide memorial to have a better understanding the tragedy that happened in 1994, continue The tour through the old and new Kigali takes us to cultural and pass through Nyamirambo, the most vibrant area in Kigali. We have lunch here and after visit the liberation Museum whereby you will have the opportunity of learning and what led up the genocide and understanding what happened and what is being done to unsure that never happens again after we will have a chance of visiting on of the famous artistic area called Inema arts center, after that long day We refresh at Scheba hotel then go for a rooftop diner in the evening and enjoy the view of Kigali at night at the rooftop of Ubumwe Grand Hotel few meters from Scheba hotel, then an overnight at Scheba Hotel
